Öoo

Get it? The game’s name looks like the bomb caterpillar main character!

Okay this is one of those games, hop to it, it’s an hour or two long, more if you hunt for secrets.

This is a short and sweet little metroidvania where you play as a little bomb caterpillar who’s only vertical mobility is with bombs.

You wake up and set out to find some food, and then you find it on your big adventure! And eating the fruit gives you a bomb, how nifty. Left click to place it under you, Right click to blow it up.

Other than finding the two pieces of fruit, there is no upgrades or progression, only learning and knowledge. Reaching the end of an area will teach you more about how your bombs work and how the world works, and then you can go to an earlier part of the world to employ your new knowledge and find new areas! It really is that simple.

The magic is just how creative you can be with the bombs though, but experimentation and discovery is almost all the fun with this game, so all I really can say without detracting from that is that the graphics look super cute and the music is really charming, they do the Pikuniku thing where they have one melodic throughline and just turn it into many different little tunes and jingles, and it makes me very happy.

I beat the game in a little over an hour, but whether thats an indicator of the game’s difficulty or my brain I’m unsure of. Then again, I didn’t find any of the secrets so perhaps I’m not as sharp as I think.
