Yet another bundle of games, each with the same premise and controls. The Room is a series of point & click puzzle games with an overarching plot told through notes left behind by the people you’re trying to track down. The series starts off simple enough, you start with a box, and you have to open it, but as you go further through the series, the spaces you can explore get larger and more intricate.
The main mechanic over the whole series is your eyepiece. You get it relatively early on in each game, and wearing it reveals a lot of hidden details in the world. Markings to indicate puzzle solutions or where things are, etherial looking green wooden panels that when looked at through the eyepiece, reveal some more inner workings of the mechanisms you investigate, and later on into the series even lets you look around directly inside the spaces and mechanisms.
While this puzzle game is on the more difficult side of things, like, it isnt just a walk in the park, I recommend using the hint system if you’re stuck instead of searching for guides. There is no penalty to using it, and it doesnt just outright tell you the solution, it starts by just telling you what general area to check, then if you’re still stuck, it’ll provide more refined hints. I found this exceptionally helpful though because the hints tend mostly to point you to entirely new areas of the spaces you’re in that you didn’t even know you could investigate further.
